ProfTech IIIJob Summary:
- Responsible for the technical and procedural aspect of engine/component designs from initial layout through final drawings.
Position Responsibilities:
+ Perform a variety of engineering assignments related to new product development and/or enhancement of existing products + Responsible for creation & development of new design concepts from layout through final drawings + Conduct and/or support analysis of mechanical system & component designs (FEA, static, dynamic, etc) + Provide guidance to drafting/CAD operators + Investigate and resolve Discrepant Material Reports + Interface with internal manufacturing teams/operators on designs and specifications + Support component resourcing projects + Consult with suppliers/customers on designs and specifications + Establish and execute program schedules + Review and evaluate results/conclusions of projects + Execute product development & certification programs necessary to achieve strategic business objective(s) + Coordinate activities with Engineering Manager, Program Management and other Program Managers as required to ensure common business and development goals will be achieved + May be required to interface with suppliers- Qualifications
Position Requirements:
+ KnowledgeASME Y14.5 GD&T
drafting standards + Design / modeling / drafting experience with 3D CAD solids based parametric modeling systems (Inventor, SolidWorks, SolidEdge or Siemens NX preferred) + Structural / thermal / fluid Finite Element Analysis (FEA) experience (ANSYS preferred)Education Requirements:
+ Minimum Bachelors Degree with 3-5 years' work experience + Masters Degree with 2 years work experience desirableAdditional Competency Requirements:
- Teamwork approach, presentation skills, ability to resolve conflicts
- Strong organizational, interpersonal and communications skills
- Ability and willingness to travel 25 as necessary
- Knowledge of FAA regulations and certification experience is desirable
- Working knowledge of Six Sigma methodologies desirable License and Certification Requirements + Six Sigma Green or Black Belt Certification is a plus + Private pilot's license desirable but not required
