Reporting to the Service Manager, the CNC Field Engineer will travel to client manufacturing sites to install, maintain, diagnose and repair complex CNC machinery such as mills, lathes, and routers. Duties /Responsibilities:
Perform installation, repair and maintenance of CNC machinery, accessories and automation equipment; Perform repair of products at various customer locations throughout the St.Paul / Minneapolis
region and nation-wide, as needed, through assembly or modification of standard products; Unload, level, wire, and calibrate new or relocated CNC machines according to precise blueprints and specifications Troubleshoot with end-users and dealers remotely via phone and e-mail in an effort to repair complex electrical, mechanical, software, and PLC (Programmable Logic Controller) issues to reduce client downtime; Instruct machine operators and customer staff on safe operation, basic troubleshooting, and new product line; Conduct scheduled checks and tune-ups on established machines to keep them running at optimal capacity; Troubleshoot with end-users and dealers remotely via telephone and email; Write detailed service reports regarding machine status, parts used, and completed repairs; Assist in maintaining and monitoring stock of repair/installation of parts; Other related duties as required.Qualifications:
High school diploma; Associate's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or similar discipline; or vocational education in a mechanical-based, or technology-related discipline, a plus; At least 3 years of current experience working with industrial machinery, or automated CNC machine tools; Hands-on working knowledge with industrial CNC control frameworks to include required; Working knowledge of pneumatic and hydraulic systems, electrical systems and mechanical systems on CNC machinery, required; A good understanding of PMC and PLC ladder logic; Ability to accurately interpret electrical schematics, pneumatic diagrams and mechanical blueprints; Proficient use of multimeters, oscilloscopes and precision metrology tools (calipers, test indicators, gauge pins); Expertise in ball screws, linear guideways, spindle rebuilds and automatic tool changers (ATCs); Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously; Exceptional oral and written communication and interpersonal skills; Astute mathematical, analytical, time management, attention to detail, organizational, planning, effective multi-tasking, problem-solving, follow-through and customer service skills; Ability to work effectively alone and within a collaborative team environment; Ability to lift heavy equipment, as necessary; Valid driver's license and clean and insurable driving record; Ability to travel throughout the Minneapolis / St. Paul region frequently.Compensation:
$35- $48 per hour, DOE, for this full-time, non-exempt position.

80 hours of annual paid vacation during years 1-5 (pro-rated on start date) allocated in a lump sum after 90 days of employment and/or on January 1 thereafter; 40 hours of annual paid personal time, allotted in a lump sum after 90 days of employment and/or on January 1 thereafter; HSA Core Plan paid 75% for the employee and employee's dependents; HSA Standard Plan paid 75% for employee and 60% for employee's dependents; PPO Buy-Up Plan in which employee pays the difference in coverage of 75% for employee and 60% for employee's dependents; Dental, vision insurance paid 75% for the employee and employee's dependents; Basic life and AD&D insurance of $25Kfor employee; Supplemental life, disability and accident insurance paid 100% by employee; ESOP (Employee Stock Ownership Plan) retirement program 401(K) not employer matched; Company vehicle, credit card, cell phone, laptop and specialty tools provided.Working Hours:
8:00AM- 5:00PM Monday
- Friday with flexibility and regular overtime, due to extended work travel, or in conjunction with specific project work requirements.
Location:
Remote position but must live in or be willing to relocate to the Minneapolis/St. Paul, MN area.Pay:
$35.00- $48.

Do you have experience using multimeters, oscilloscopes and precision metrology tools (calipers, test indicators, gauge pins)? Do you have experience with ball screws, linear guideways, spindle rebuilds and automatic tool changers (ATCs)? Do you live within a reasonable commute to the Minneapolis, MN area, or are you willing to relocate, if chosen for this position? The hourly pay rate range for this full-time, non-exempt position is $35- $48 DOE.
