Job Title:
Mechanical Design Engineer Job Description Join a dedicated team in Bloomfield, CT, as a Mechanical Design Engineer, where you will be at the forefront of designing, developing, and implementing engineering programs that align with business standards and product requirements. Responsibilities Design, develop, analyze, and document product designs that fulfill functional, cost, reliability, manufacturability, and safety requirements. Create and maintain comprehensive technical documentation for all design work, including tolerance loops, drawings, bills of materials, and risk management analyses. Utilize solid modeling software such as PTC Creo and Windchill to execute designs and create models, assemblies, detailed drawings, and BOMs. Lead and support new product introduction (NPI) activities, ensuring a seamless transition from design to production. Ensure proper documentation of technical data generated for assigned tasks, adhering to engineering policies and procedures. Essential Skills Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field. Minimum of 5 years of experience in mechanical engineering and technical design. Proficiency in mechanical design, including 3D modeling and 2D drawing creation in PTC Creo or similar CAD tools. Experience with Sheet Metal design for enclosures or busbar systems using PTC Creo and Windchill PLM systems. Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to analyze technical issues and implement effective solutions. Self-motivated and proactive, capable of managing multiple priorities and tasks with minimal supervision. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience in systems analysis and understanding of bill of material processes. Thrives in a team-first culture with a focus on knowledge-sharing and collective problem-solving. Work Environment This is a hybrid work environment, requiring onsite presence for the first 1-2 months with the option for 1-2 days of remote work per week. Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Bloomfield, CT. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $65.00 - $70.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
