Opportunity:
We are seeking a highly skilled and analytical Manufacturing Engineer with a proven track record in the automotive industry. In this role, you will design, optimize, and oversee our automotive assembly and production processes. You will lead the transition of new vehicle components from design concepts into full-scale production. Your focus will be on driving equipment efficiency (OEE), eliminating waste using Lean principles, and maintaining strict automotive quality standards.
What You'll Do:
Process Design & Optimization Design and implement optimal equipment layouts and workstations using CAD software to streamline workflow and reduce cycle times. Apply Lean tools and Six Sigma methodologies to eliminate waste, manage material flow, and decrease downtime. Program, troubleshoot, and integrate robotics, programmable logic controllers (PLCs), and automated welding/assembly systems. Quality & Launch Management Manage and execute Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) and Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) requirements for new launches. Facilitate and own the Process Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (PFMEA) to identify and mitigate process risks early. Investigate line bottlenecks, quality failures, or material variances to implement corrective actions (8D, 5-Why). Cross-Functional Collaboration Partner closely with product development teams to ensure new automotive components can be efficiently machined or assembled. Collaborate with external tooling and machine vendors to procure, install, and validate new capital equipment. Draft standard operating procedures (SOPs) and train line technicians on newly introduced equipment or workflows.
What We're Looking For:
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Automotive, or Industrial Engineering. Minimum of 3+ years of direct manufacturing engineering experience inside an automotive tier-1 supplier or OEM plant. Strong background utilizing CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or CATIA). Deep working knowledge of standard automotive compliance, change management, and quality control systems. Exceptional problem-solving, analytical data tracking, and communication skills to direct cross-functional floor teams.
Preferred Qualifications:
Certified Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt. Hands-on experience with automotive robotics (e.g., FANUC, KUKA, ABB) and conveyor systems. Experience handling transition phases for Electric Vehicle (EV) components or high-voltage battery assembly.
