What You Will Do:
The Pratt & Whitney Manufacturing Engineering organization is seeking a Manufacturing Process Engineer to support its Manufacturing Readiness Level (MRL) Operations. Provide production support across multiple manufacturing processes i.e., Thermal Plasma Spray, Heat Treatment, Surface Treatment and/or Brazing With specific process(es) ownership, this role will drive manufacturing process improvements across multiple operations that may span the full value stream of part. Identify & implement process optimization & control methods to eliminate/prevent quality turn backs /escapes and reduce overall product costs. Work within Integrated Product Teams (IPT), consisting of product and tool designers, quality assurance, systems designers, and other stakeholders as required. Use statistical analysis tools to perform root cause analysis and corrective actions. Drive targeted manufacturing process optimization activities through MRL tools such as Value Stream Mapping and Process Flow Diagram, PFMEA, Measurement Systems Analysis & Process Yields monitoring etc. Support the project pipeline process to select, prioritize and scope projects to business objectives, integrated with other continuous improvement activities and CORE initiatives. Lead significant projects critical to improve manufacturing process capability & quality performance.
Qualifications You Must Have:
Bachelor's Degree in engineering and 2 or more years' experience in an engineering, manufacturing operations, quality or related environment or a Master's degree and 1 or more years' experience in a manufacturing operations, quality or related environment Understanding of continuous improvement tools such as Six Sigma and LEAN or Six Sigma Green Belt certification Proficiency in Microsoft Office products including: Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
Qualifications We Prefer:
Demonstrated technical proficiency in one or more of the following processes i.e. Thermal Plasma Spray, Heat Treatment, Surface Treatment, Brazing or Chemical Cleaning processes. 6 sigma Green Belt preferred. CORE/ 6 Sigma Practitioner/Professional certification Strong understanding of other continuous improvement skills: DMAIC, Red-X, Lean, etc. Demonstrated technical proficiency in complex manufacturing activities. Demonstrated proficiency leading and managing a portfolio of cross functional projects. Minitab and Prolink or other statistical software. Ability to program Fanuc robots. Proficiency in statistics, data analytics, DOE, and multivariate statistics. Travel up to 5% What is my role type? Onsite:
Employees who are working in Onsite roles will work primarily onsite. This includes all production and maintenance workers, as they are essential to the development of our engines. As part of our commitment to maintaining a secure hiring process, candidates may be asked to attend select steps of the interview process in-person at one of our office locations, regardless of whether the role is designated as on-site, hybrid or remote. The salary range for this role is 68,900 USD - 131,100 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
