Job Description

OVERALL SUMMARY
A well-established company in the manufacturing industry is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer for a plant located in the southwest Atlanta, GA metropolitan area. This role will involve planning and designing manufacturing processes, analyzing equipment layout and workflow, and maximizing efficiency. The selected candidate will report to the Manufacturing Engineering Manager and be involved in the purchase of new capital equipment. The position offers major benefits, bonus potential, and a 401k with a 100% match up to 5%, with typical working hours of 8-5 and potential for additional hours.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
Create production tooling designs using 2D & 3D software such as SolidWorks. Implement productivity improvements for current production lines. Conduct root cause analysis of failures and suggest changes in designs, tolerances, or processing methods. Design and implement production processes for new products and changes to existing ones. Perform FMEA's on new and existing products, focusing on designs, materials, or processes. Review product designs for manufacturability and efficiency. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimize productivity methods. Lead initiatives in design of experiments, lean manufacturing, and more. Lead design review meetings for new and existing products. Develop work instructions, spare parts inventories, and other documentation as needed. Implement automation technologies and systems to enhance manufacturing processes.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
Bachelor's Degree (BA) in engineering or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience. Proficiency in 3D modeling software (e.g., SolidWorks) and Microsoft Office. Experience with tooling, project management, automation, and heavy manufacturing. Background in high-pressure manufacturing processes like die casting, stamping, or plating preferred. Foundry experience is a plus. Must be authorized to work in the USA without sponsorship.
