DUTIES Candidate will be responsible for ensuring validation and implementation of UPF safety and technical design requirements in preparation for readiness. Duties will include but not be limited to: Technical adequacy review of safety basis and safety basis support documents. Technical adequacy review of drawings, specifications and other design documents that implement safety basis requirements. Validation and verification of implementation of technical design requirements in drawings, specifications and other design documents. Verifying results of acceptance testing to ensure that design criteria and safety basis requirements are adequately demonstrated. Lead facility and systems operational readiness by preparation and verification of readiness affirmation evidence packages. Preferred Job Requirements Experience in coordinating engineering effort Demonstrated technical capabilities, leadership, and work ethic Ability to work in a project team environment and communicate well with other disciplines, customers, and stakeholders
EDUCATION
Bachelor of Science, from an ABET accredited program, in Engineering/Physical Science [Chemistry, Physics, or related] AND a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience. Must meet the requirements of
DOE O 426.2A
(i.e., B.S. degree in engineering or related scientific major; 2 years job-related and 1 year nuclear experience; or a
DOE O 426.2A
alternative). Work Environment /
Physical Demands:
Work is performed in an office environment and requires the ability to operate standard office equipment and keyboards. Light to moderate lifting may be required for packages and other items, ability to walk short distances, may be regularly required to stand, sit, talk, hear, reach, stoop, kneel, and use hands and fingers to operate a computer, telephone, and keyboard. Due to government and/or federal regulations for this position, proof of U.S. citizenship is required.
