Design Engineers (Low Voltage & Medium Voltage) Addison, IL | On-Site | Up to $120,000 Base Salary A leading manufacturer of custom-engineered power distribution and control solutions is expanding its engineering team and seeking talented professionals to support continued growth. This organization designs and manufactures highly customized low
  • and medium-voltage electrical equipment used across industrial, commercial, utility, and critical infrastructure markets.
We are currently hiring for four positions: Low Voltage Mechanical Design Engineer Low Voltage Electrical Design Engineer Medium Voltage Mechanical Design Engineer Medium Voltage Electrical Design Engineer Position Overview These roles offer the opportunity to work on custom-engineered power distribution equipment from concept through manufacturing. Engineers will collaborate closely with design, production, quality, supply chain, and sales teams to develop solutions that meet customer specifications while supporting manufacturing efficiency and product quality. This is a highly visible opportunity within a growing organization where engineers have direct involvement in product design, problem solving, and continuous improvement initiatives. Key Responsibilities Design and develop low
  • or medium-voltage power distribution equipment Create and maintain detailed engineering drawings and documentation Develop electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, single lines, and bills of material Perform 2D and 3D design work using AutoCAD, Inventor, SolidWorks, or similar platforms Support manufacturing and production teams with technical expertise Assist with product improvements, standardization efforts, and cost reduction initiatives Ensure designs meet customer specifications and applicable industry standards Coordinate with internal stakeholders to support project schedules and production deadlines Provide technical support for sales, customers, and field personnel as needed Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Engineering Technology, or related field preferred Minimum 1-2+ years of relevant engineering experience Experience with switchgear, switchboards, panelboards, control panels, motor control systems, or power distribution equipment Strong AutoCAD experience required Experience with 2D and/or 3D CAD design software Knowledge of UL, NEC, ANSI, or related industry standards is highly preferred Strong communication and problem-solving skills Ability to thrive in a fast-paced manufacturing environment Preferred Experience Candidates with backgrounds in the following industries or companies are strongly encouraged to apply: Electrical Equipment Manufacturing Power Distribution Switchgear & Switchboard Design Industrial Controls & Automation Electrical Construction OEM Electrical Products Compensation & Benefits Base salary up to $120,000 Stable and growing organization Collaborative engineering environment Strong career growth opportunities Exposure to custom-engineered products and complex projects Direct interaction with manufacturing and operations leadership Location 📍 Addison, Illinois (Near O'Hare Airport)
