THE POSITION
Sr Project Engineer, AUMOVIO Autonomous Mobility US, LLC, New Braunfels, TX:
Responsible for supporting the introduction of new automotive electronic products in a high-volume manufacturing environment from development through Start of Production (SOP) / ramp-up, as well as supporting product changes in serial production. Focus on manufacturing readiness, process validation, cost control support, quality requirements, and cross-functional coordination to ensure launches meet quality, timing, and financial objectives. Utilize technical knowledge of electronics manufacturing processes with structured launch discipline, financial awareness, and the ability to work effectively in a cross-functional, global automotive environment. Full time employment, Monday - Friday, 40 hours per week.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering or a related field plus 2 years of related work experience in the Automotive Industry. Of the required experience, must have 2 years of experience in each of the following: Leading engineering projects and supporting new program launches in the automotive industry; Product Life Cycle (PLC); Project Management Tools such as JAZZ, PLANISWARE or MS Project; Interfacing with automotive customers including reporting projects status, customer requirements, customer launch processes and automotive customer online portals; Automotive core tools including FMEA (Failure Mode and Effects Analysis), APQP (Advanced Product Quality Planning), PPAP (Production Part Approval Process), MSA (Measurement System Analysis), SPC (Statistical Process Control), 8D (Problem Solving), and DFM (Design for Manufacturing); Automotive quality standards including IATF ( International Automotive Task Force) , VDA ( Verband der Automobilindustrie), and ISO ( International Organization for Standardization) , and customer specific requirements; and Electronics manufacturing processes, including surface mount technology (SMT), Printed Circuit Board (PCB) assembly, final assembly and In Circuit Test (ICT) and End of Line (EOL) functional testing. Of the required experience, must have 1 year of experience in each of the following: SAP (Enterprise Resource Planning tool); Manufacturing Execution System (MES); Managing project budgets for launches and budgetary risks; and Working with cross functional teams such as engineering, manufacturing, quality, supply chain, purchasing or finance teams in the automotive industry.
