Job Description
Beck Industrial is seeking a Process Engineer - Mixer Assembly to simplify, streamline, and standardize the processes for building our concrete mixer trucks. This is a hands-on engineering role focused on understanding how assembly work is performed today and developing practical ways to make it simpler, more consistent, and more efficient. You'll work closely with Engineering, Production, Quality, Maintenance, and other teams to improve processes, establish standard work, and identify opportunities to advance how we build our equipment. What You'll Do Develop, document, and standardize mixer assembly processes, including work instructions, visual aids, checklists, and process controls. Evaluate existing assembly processes and identify practical ways to simplify work, reduce variation, and improve efficiency. Design and implement tools, jigs, fixtures, and measurement methods that improve repeatability, ergonomics, and accuracy. Standardize chassis/weld layout and component installation methods, including reference points and measurement methods for layout, drilling, mounting, and component placement. Conduct time studies, workflow analysis, and process audits to identify bottlenecks, waste, and improvement opportunities. Lead process improvements that reduce rework, improve cycle times, and strengthen quality and safety. Identify opportunities to advance assembly processes through improved methods, tools, automation, and technology. Partner with Production, Quality, Product Engineering, and other teams to resolve assembly issues and support new products and engineering changes. Develop assembly methods and tooling for new or revised products and help train technicians on new processes. Analyze process performance and monitor adherence to established standards. What We're Looking For Engineering degree, technical education, or equivalent relevant experience. Experience supporting assembly or production processes preferred. Knowledge of standard work, process documentation, time studies, root cause analysis, and continuous improvement methods. Experience developing or supporting tools, jigs, fixtures, and measurement methods. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to turn observations and data into practical solutions. Hands-on approach and willingness to spend significant time on the production floor. Strong communication, organization, and collaboration skills. Focus on safety, quality, consistency, and continuous improvement.
