Were looking for a Substation Design Engineer to join our team of innovators, problem solvers, and trusted industry experts. What Youll Do Design & Develop:
- Create and analyze substation layouts, engineering drawings, system calculations, and specifications.
- Design projects in compliance with codes, standards, and safety regulations.
- Gain hands-on experience with electrical and civil applications, including steel structures, breakers, grounding, protective relaying, and foundation design.
Plan & Analyze:
- Partner with member cooperatives, municipalities, contractors, and consultants to scope and deliver projects.
- Conduct engineering and economic analysis to support project decisions and budgets.
- Investigate new technologies and apply best practices in substation engineering.
Support & Collaborate:
- Provide technical expertise across departments such as ROW, Regulatory, Project Management, and Planning.
- Assist construction crews, suppliers, and inspectors to resolve field or design issues.
- Perform site visits, inspections, and testing of substations.
What Were Looking For Education:
- Bachelor of Science in Electrical or Civil Engineering from an ABET-accredited university required.
- Other ABET-accredited engineering degrees with specialized substation design experience may be considered.
Skills & Traits:
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Commitment to safety, integrity, and continuous improvement.
- Ability to collaborate effectively across departments and with external stakeholders.
- Eagerness to learn and apply knowledge in high-voltage substation applications.
Professional Credentials:
