Job Description
Senior CNC Manufacturing Engineer | Technical Lead Are you the person people turn to when a machining problem gets difficult? We are seeking an experienced CNC manufacturing professional who understands complex machining, Mastercam programming, tooling, fixtures, GD&T, and process development and is ready for greater technical leadership.
Your current title might be:
Manufacturing Engineer, CNC Manufacturing Engineer, Machining Engineer, Process Engineer, Applications Engineer, Tooling Engineer, or Senior CNC Programmer. We care more about what you know how to do than the title on your business card. This position combines hands-on CNC manufacturing engineering with technical leadership. You will remain close to the shop floor while helping lead manufacturing engineering, solve difficult machining problems, improve processes, and mentor others. What You'll Do- Develop and optimize processes for complex, tight-tolerance CNC components.
- Program, review, troubleshoot, and improve machining processes using Mastercam.
- Support multi-axis milling, turning, mill-turn, and other advanced machining operations.
- Develop tooling, fixtures, workholding strategies, speeds, feeds, and machining parameters.
- Use SolidWorks for fixture design and manufacturing process development.
- Interpret complex engineering drawings and advanced GD&T requirements.
- Troubleshoot problems involving tolerances, tooling, workholding, materials, cycle time, and process capability.
- Work with materials including titanium, Inconel, stainless steels, tool steels, and aluminum.
- Lead and mentor manufacturing engineers, programmers, and technical team members.
- Partner with Production, Quality, and Operations to improve manufacturability and performance.
- Drive root-cause analysis and improvements in scrap, rework, cycle time, tool life, quality, and manufacturing cost.
- Support new product introduction and evaluate new equipment, tooling, software, and manufacturing technologies. What We're Looking For We are especially interested in someone with:
- Significant hands-on CNC machining and manufacturing process experience.
- Hands-on Mastercam programming experience.
- Multi-axis or 5-axis CNC machining experience.
- Knowledge of milling, turning, tooling, fixtures, and workholding.
- Advanced blueprint reading and GD&T knowledge.
- Experience developing processes for complex, tight-tolerance parts.
- SolidWorks or comparable CAD experience.
- Experience troubleshooting difficult machining and manufacturing problems.
- Experience machining titanium, Inconel, stainless steels, or similar materials.
- The technical credibility to work directly with experienced machinists, programmers, engineers, and production leaders.
AS9100, ISO
