New employees will begin in our Engine Teardown Department , where the engine rebuilding and machining process begins. Professional engine-building experience is not required. Our goal is to combine modern machining technology with skilled craftsmanship to produce engines and components built for precision, strength, performance, and reliability. About the Position As an Engine Teardown Technician, you will work at the beginning of the engine rebuilding process. Engines arriving at our facility must be carefully disassembled, inspected, organized, cleaned, and prepared before moving into the main machine shop. You will gain hands-on experience working with nearly every major internal engine component while learning how a professional engine machining facility operates. Responsibilities Include Disassembling complete engines and engine assemblies Tearing down engine blocks and cylinder heads Inspecting components during disassembly Identifying visible damage, wear, and questionable components Working with engine blocks, cylinder heads, crankshafts, connecting rods, pistons, camshafts, lifters, valves, and related components Properly organizing and identifying engine components throughout the teardown process Cleaning engine parts and assemblies Preparing blocks, heads, crankshafts, rods, and other components for machining Maintaining a clean, safe, and organized work area Properly using hand tools, power tools, and shop equipment Following established shop procedures Communicating damaged or questionable components to senior team members Maintaining strong attention to detail throughout every job What We're Looking For Reliable and dependable Highly motivated and ready to work Mechanically inclined Interested in engines, machining, racing, hot rods, automotive performance, or mechanical work Comfortable working with their hands Able to follow instructions and established procedures Organized and detail-oriented Willing to learn from experienced machinists and engine builders Able to work independently and as part of a team Interested in developing a long-term career Willing to earn additional responsibility through performance, reliability, and effort Previous automotive, engine, machining, or mechanical experience is a plus, but not required. Starting wage will be based on experience, mechanical ability, and relevant background.
