Job Description:
Position Overview We are seeking a hands-on Project Engineer to lead custom molding programs from initial client discovery through production release. Key Responsibilities Oversee a dynamic portfolio of 3 to 8 overlapping projects across various stages of development. Serve as the main technical contact for 3-4 key client accounts during project kickoff and active phases. Prepare cost estimates, evaluate part geometry, and partner with internal manufacturing teams to execute Design for Manufacturability (DFM) reviews. Solicit external tooling estimates, manage mold procurement, and track overall development expenditures. Determine press sizing requirements and establish cycle-time estimates for multi-shot molding and secondary assembly processes. Lead cross-functional internal teams to ensure project milestones are met. Coordinate tooling maintenance, adjustments, and engineering change requests. Required Qualifications 3 to 5 years of technical experience in polymer processing or silicone molding (cross-training in silicone is available for candidates with a strong thermoplastics background). Ability to navigate and analyze 3D models using SolidWorks. Proven client-facing communication skills with experience negotiating design revisions and manufacturing tolerances. Preferred Qualifications Comprehensive understanding of mold tool design, mechanical actions, and internal tooling mechanics. Strong grasp of statistical process control, specifically applying CP and CPK metrics to assess manufacturing capability. Advanced proficiency in 3D CAD modeling and geometry modification within SolidWorks. Experience interpreting mold filling simulations and flow analysis reports. Background in regulated medical device manufacturing. Schedule Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM
