Key Responsibilities:
Lead process improvement and yield optimization projects using Lean manufacturing principles. Manage, design, and implement automation, mechanization, and equipment integration projects across production lines. Develop and refine Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), work instructions, and manufacturing documentation. Collaborate with R&D, product design, and quality teams to support Design for Manufacturability (DFM) and smooth NPI (New Product Introduction) rollouts. Evaluate, specify, and select new production equipment, tooling, and fixtures to increase throughput and reduce cycle times. Perform root-cause analysis on manufacturing bottlenecks, quality issues, and yield losses. Coordinate cross-functionally with production, quality, and external vendors/contractors to implement engineering changes.
Job Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related field (or equivalent combination of experience and education). 2+ years of experience in manufacturing, industrial, or related engineering roles. Hands-on experience with production automation, custom tooling/fixtures, and mechanization projects. Must understand tolerence stakup and be able to read engineering drawings/blueprints. Proven ability to analyze manufacturing workflows, identify inefficiencies, and execute continuous improvement initiatives. Excellent technical writing, project management, and cross-functional communication skills. Growth mindset with a strong desire to progress into supervisory or operations leadership roles.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with automated assembly, PLC-controlled equipment, stamping presses, or precision machine tools. Working knowledge of
ISO 9001
quality management systems and industrial safety standards (OSHA). Exposure to Lean/Six Sigma methodologies (Green Belt or similar preferred).
Physical Requirements:
Ability to walk, stand, and move across the production floor for extended periods. Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs as required during equipment setup or testing.
