Job Description

Job Summary:
The Manufacturing Engineer provides engineering expertise to support the design and development of new and existing products. They are responsible for improving components and products and creating new products that meet quality standards while minimizing costs. Additionally, the engineer plays a crucial role in designing, developing, and testing to ensure efficient and high-quality production of plastic products.
Responsibilities and Duties:
Develops manufacturing processes by studying product requirements, researching, designing, modifying, and testing manufacturing methods and equipment. Actively participate in various phases of the project management process including, but not limited to, developing work plans, preparing concepts and engineering drawings, developing prototypes, and conducting physical testing of products and components. Assist in initial product start-up of new projects. Participate in the initial product builds and, when required, evaluate new vendors and investigate functional quality issues. Produce manufacturing drawings from 3-D models using SolidWorks CAD software. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including R&D, production, and quality, to solve problems, implement changes, and provide technical advice and assistance to achieve defined project goals, tasks, and resource requirements. Perform all work within the requirements outlined in our ISO system. Participate in internal audits as required. Provides engineering support by answering questions and requests from inside or outside the organization. Create and maintain technical documentation related to product design and development. Stay updated with the latest advancements in mechanical engineering and plastics manufacturing technologies. Perform all other duties as assigned.
Knowledge and Skills:
Interpersonal skills and the ability to work as a positive team player in a cross-functional team environment. Ability to review, interpret, and evaluate company documents Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, meet time deadlines, and perform under pressure. Testing of products and devices, evaluate problem areas and failure points. Use manual and power tools safely. Excellent analytical, problem solving, and decision-making skills. Strong understanding and experience with injection molded parts and materials. Excellent written and verbal communication skills Ability to manage time and prioritize tasks for multiple projects.
Education and Experience:
Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing Engineering or related engineering field. 1+ years of experience in plastic product design and development, preferred. Proficient in the use of SolidWorks CAD design software. Strong mathematical and measurement skills. Strong computer skills with experience in Microsoft Office products
Physical Requirements:
Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer. Able to perform regular bending, twisting, and lifting to shelves.
