Manufacturing Engineer

Description This role focuses on optimizing production performance, supporting day‑to‑day manufacturing operations, and driving improvements in safety, quality, delivery, and cost. The Manufacturing Engineer will work closely with operations, maintenance, quality, facilities, and continuous improvement teams to ensure stable, efficient, and capable manufacturing processes across tubing production operations including forming, welding, annealing, finishing, inspection, and packaging.

Day to day:

Provide engineering support to manufacturing operations to ensure safe, efficient, and repeatable production processes Develop, document, and improve standard work, process parameters, and operating procedures Support production troubleshooting related to process capability, equipment performance, scrap, and yield Partner with maintenance and facilities teams to support equipment reliability, uptime, and preventive maintenance Lead or support process improvement initiatives using Lean manufacturing and structured problem‑solving tools Analyze production data and KPIs to identify trends, root causes, and improvement opportunities Support new product introductions, process changes, and equipment installations Participate in capital projects related to manufacturing equipment and process upgrades Collaborate with quality teams on corrective actions, PFMEAs, control plans, and audits Ensure manufacturing processes comply with safety, quality, and regulatory requirements Provide technical support and coaching to production supervisors and operators Additional Skills & Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing, Mechanical, Industrial, or related Engineering discipline 2-5 years of experience in a manufacturing or industrial engineering role Hands‑on experience supporting production environments Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, equipment, and process controls Ability to analyze data and apply root cause and problem‑solving methodologies Strong communication skills and ability to work cross‑functionally Proficiency with Microsoft Office and manufacturing data systems Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Janesville, WI. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $37.98 - $46.63/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
