Manufacturing Technician - Electronics and Wiring Foxhound Federal LLC Tucson, AZ Job Details Full-time $23 - $30 an hour 20 hours ago Qualifications Interpreting technical drawings Electrical schematic reading and interpretation Soldering tools High school diploma or GED Electrical layout diagram interpretation Wiring and circuitry work Electrical connectors Hand tools Electrical soldering Full Job Description Job Summary Assist our team with the fabrication, assembly, installation, inspection, testing, and repair of electrical wire harnesses, cable assemblies and optical equipment. The technician will work from engineering drawings, electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, bills of materials, and controlled work instructions to produce high-quality assemblies that meet customer, engineering, and quality requirements. Key Responsibilities
  • Fabricate and assemble electrical wire harnesses and cable assemblies.
  • Cut, strip, crimp, solder, splice, terminate, label, and route wires and cables.
  • Assemble connectors, terminals, backshells, shielding, protective sleeving, and strain-relief components.
  • Read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, engineering drawings, and work instructions.
  • Install and route harnesses according to engineering specifications.
  • Perform continuity, resistance, insulation, and functional testing using approved test equipment.
  • Troubleshoot wiring and electrical issues and identify defective components or connections.
  • Inspect completed harnesses for proper workmanship, routing, labeling, termination, and connector installation.
  • Maintain accurate production, inspection, and test documentation for product traceability.
  • Follow configuration-controlled drawings, engineering revisions, and approved manufacturing processes.
  • Support prototype, first-article, modification, and production builds.
  • Work closely with Engineering, Quality, Manufacturing, and Test personnel to resolve production issues.
  • Follow ESD, electrical safety, tool-control, and other applicable safety procedures.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and controlled work area.
  • Protect sensitive technical information and comply with applicable company, customer, security, and export-control requirements.
  • Perform other duties as required Required Skills and Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Previous experience in wire harness assembly, cable assembly, electrical assembly, electronics manufacturing, or a related field.
  • Ability to read electrical schematics and engineering drawings.
  • Experience with hand tools, wire strippers, crimpers, soldering equipment, and electrical test equipment.
  • Basic understanding of electrical circuits, connectors, terminals, and wiring systems.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
  • Ability to follow detailed instructions and work to established specifications.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in defense, aerospace, military or other high-reliability manufacturing.
  • Knowledge of
IPC/WHMA-A-620
workmanship requirements.
  • Experience with military-specification connectors and cable assemblies.
  • Experience with shielded cable, coaxial cable, twisted-pair wiring, and specialized harness assemblies.
  • Experience using multimeters, hipot testers, insulation resistance testers, or automated harness testers.
  • Experience with configuration-controlled documentation and traceability requirements.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance, if required by the position. Physical Requirements
  • Ability to perform detailed, repetitive hand assembly.
  • Ability to sit or stand for extended periods.
  • Ability to work with small wires, terminals, and connectors requiring precision.
  • Ability to bend, reach, and work in various assembly and installation positions.
  • Ability to safely use hand tools and electrical test equipment.
