Job Title:

Production TechnicianJob Description

The Production Technician I will play a crucial role in supporting the production department. This position involves assisting senior-level technicians, learning quality standards, and performing hourly checks of machinery. The technician will be responsible for reviewing and identifying quality issues, packaging rolls, and retrieving necessary items for production. Over time, the technician is expected to follow detailed instructions and work under close supervision to complete tasks such as setting up machines, prioritizing routine tasks, and troubleshooting minor production-related issues. Training will include safely disposing of hazmat waste.

Responsibilities

Assist senior-level technicians and learn quality standards.

Perform hourly checks of the machine and identify defects.

Review and understand the quality process with senior oversight.

Package rolls and retrieve items for production.

Set up and operate machines with full oversight.

Prioritize routine tasks to improve efficiency.

Troubleshoot minor production-related issues.

Follow procedures including the use of personal protective equipment.

Dispose of hazmat waste safely in designated areas.

Prepare, wrap, and label products for processing.

Load and unload products from equipment.

Embrace continuous improvement practices.

Perform additional duties as assigned by the Lead or Supervisor.

Lift and move materials up to approximately 55 lbs.

Essential Skills

Basic understanding of production, general labor, and assembly line tasks.

Experience in quality inspection and defect identification.

Ability to perform machine operation and minor troubleshooting.

Material handling, including packaging, wrapping, and labeling.

Adherence to safety procedures and PPE usage.

Effective communication skills in English, both written and verbal.

Team-oriented mindset with a focus on continuous improvement.

Mechanical aptitude and basic math and computer skills.

Ability to follow detailed instructions and escalate issues as needed.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent required.

At least 3 months of experience working with composites or in production (preferred).

Ability to convert grams to pounds.

Strong attention to detail for defect checks.

Capable of lifting up to 55 lbs.

Excellent attendance record with flexibility for overtime, weekends, and off shifts.

Work Environment

Work in a dynamic production setting with shifts available for day, swing, and night hours.

Day Shift:

6am

•2:30pm,

Swing Shift:

2:00pm

•10:30pm, and

Night Shift:

10pm

•6:30am. Night Shift will require training on Day Shift for the first two months. Embrace a culture of safety with strict adherence to personal protective equipment and procedures.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Fairfield, CA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $23.00

•$24.15/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
