As the Manufacturing Technician in our enameling department, you will be responsible for setting up equipment and machinery to apply and bake various coatings onto fine wire products. The technician will review all requirements on the Manufacturing Item Cards (MIC's) to ensure all specified requirements are met to produce a high-quality product. The technician will assist in troubleshooting coating issues, communicating with other production teams, and maintain general order and cleanliness within the Enameling Department.DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Set up enamel machines by checking the tension, the rollers, the enamel viscosity and the resistance. Start conveyors or feed rolls that carry product to be coated and baked through equipment. Fill machine reservoirs with coating solution such as enamel or varnish. Set the heating units at specified temperatures and start pumps and exhaust fans. Examine product for conformance to coating thickness and appearance specifications. Mix coatings to desired viscosity. Gauge thickness of coatings to determine adherence to quality control specifications. Sequence manufacturing orders by due date and flag orders that require additional processing. Additional duties as assigned by management.MEASUREMENT AND PERFORMANCE
The primary goal for this position is to learn and execute the enameling department production process to ensure high product quality and customer satisfaction.QUALIFICATIONS
2+ years of working in a manufacturing environment preferred. Must have strong attention to detail and be able follow multi-step instructions. Ability to communicate effectively and be able to work well in a team environment. Must have a strong work ethic, with a positive attitude and a willingness to learn. High School Diploma or G.E.D. certificate.LANGUAGE SKILLS
Must possess the ability to read and interpret documents in English such as safety rules, operating and production procedure manuals. The candidate must have the ability to write routine reports and correspondence and should be able to speak effectively with internal customers or employees of the organization.MATHMATICAL SKILLS
The employee must have the ability to work with mathematical concepts such as percentages, angles, surface areas, ratios, proportions and volume calculations.COMPUTER SKILLS
Must be able to modify or complete forms and PDFs, and make basic functional use the Microsoft Office® suite of products (Word, Excel, and Outlook at a minimum).PHYSICAL DEMANDS
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms. The employee frequently is required to sit; stand; walk; and stoop.
