Job Description
Chipton-Ross is seeking a Manufacturing Technician for a contract opportunity in Long Beach, CA.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
(REQUIREDSKILLS/EXPERIENCE
):- Must have related work experience
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES
- Cut wires to specified lengths according to production drawings, BOMs, and cut sheets Verify wire gauge, color, and type meet specification requirements
- Bundle and label cut wires for each assembly or work order
- Strip wire insulation to specified lengths using approved tools Inspect stripped wire ends for nicks, cuts, or conductor damage
- Tin wire ends when required by specifications Apply wire labels, markers, and heat-shrink identifiers per engineering drawings
- Ensure all labeling accurately matches wire run designations Pre-stage connectors, terminals, lugs, and ferrules according to the BOM
- Crimp terminals onto wire ends using calibrated crimping tools, when authorized Perform pull tests on crimped connections in accordance with quality standards
- Assemble kits containing prepped wires, connectors, and hardware for each production order Stage completed kits at designated production workstations
- Verify kit completeness and accuracy prior to handoff
- Conduct visual inspections of all prepared wires and assemblies Identify, document, and segregate non-conforming materials
- Complete required documentation on travelers, checklists, and work orders accurately and timely
