Operations Manager Palomar Products Palomar Products is a wholly owned subsidiary of TransDigm Group specializing in secure communication. Founded in 1970 and located in Rancho Santa Margarita, CA, Palomar Products is a global leader in highly reliable secure intercommunication systems for airborne and naval military applications. This includes switching and crew-position units for airborne, shipboard, unmanned, and ground applications for multi-mission platforms. Our systems operate in over 250 unique aircrafts and 9 classes of naval warships around the globe. Job Summary We are seeking an experienced Manufacturing Assembler to be responsible for assembling parts and components according to the company's production standards. The successful candidate will be able to work in a production environment and possess excellent attention to detail. Primary Responsibilities To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Reads work orders, follows production drawings and sample assemblies, or receives verbal instructions regarding duties to be performed. Identifies / labels CCAs & LRUs. Integrates / assembles CCAs to chassis sub-assemblies. Performs mechanical rework per rework instructions. Performs final unit level clean-up. Performs related duties and responsibilities as assigned. Performs conformal coating masking, automated coating, coating removal & touch-up, bonding on CCAs. Performs wire prep and basic wire wrap by understanding how to read and follow the Wire List, Cut List, and Work Instructions. Requires minimal assistance or instructions from the manufacturing engineer with normal drawing documentation data package. Can perform more complex assembly with engineering assistance. Performs solder rework on CCAs with through hole and SMT components Performs Wire Wrap at all levels from connector assembly to final unit assembly. Comprehends our documentation such as DWGs, PLs, WLs, ECNs, EOs, and Work Instructions enough to identify any errors / required changes. Outlook, Word, Excel, PDF, Teams, and online training capabilities. Mechanical Assembly Experience. Basic or Proficient soldering and wire prep experience. Level I High School Diploma and 0-2 Years Experience Basic understanding of mechanical assembly. Level II High School Diploma and 3-5 Years Experience Thorough understanding of testing and troubleshooting of LRUs and circuit cards down to the component level including interpretation of a variety of schematics and wiring diagrams under the guidance of a test engineer and or Sr. Test technician as required. Level III High School Diploma and 6-10 Years Experience Proficient understanding of testing and troubleshooting of LRUs and circuit cards down to the component level including interpretation of a variety of schematics and wiring diagrams. Ability to work on multiple projects at the same time Perform rework on circuit card assemblies using basic soldering skills to remove and replace through hole and SMT components. Minimal guidance from test engineer. Physical Demands Work is performed in a production environment and regularly requires sustained performance of physically demanding work including lifting, carrying, pushing and/or pulling of moderately heavy objects and materials (20 to 50 pounds) and dexterity of arms, hands and fingers to operate hand and/or power tools such as drills, hammers for performing facility maintenance and inspection. Job Essential functions require maintaining physical condition necessary for standing, walking, constant bending, twisting, reaching, climbing, kneeling and occasional use of safety/protective equipment. Work Environment While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration.
