Job Description
Position Summary Conducts chemical and physical tests in the company's laboratories, generating test data for quality control, product development and other purposes. Maintains and updates laboratory databases. Primary Responsibilities Operates laboratory equipment and analytical instruments to assess the various product properties Maintains logs, computer databases and other lab documents to record and report test data Sets up lab equipment and prepares samples for testing and analysis Troubleshoots, maintains, and calibrates laboratory equipment and analytical instruments, to ensure proper functioning, accuracy, and reliability Gathers production samples as required according to quality control procedures Assists in maintaining an inventory of lab supplies and requisitions replacement Follows technical instructions and written lab procedures; complies with lab protocol to ensure the analytical integrity of the lab is maintained according to established standards Performs other duties as assigned Minimum Education and Experience Associate's degree in a related field of study (Chemistry, Materials Science, or Engineering) is preferred. Alternatively, a high school diploma or equivalent educational certificate coupled with 3+ years laboratory experience. Other Qualifications Personal integrity and ability to conduct themselves and their job responsibilities in an ethical and non-discriminatory manner Strong computer skills, including the use of: Excel, Outlook, and Word Experience with quality data entry into ERP systems such as Oracle or SAP Good communication skills - able to interact at all levels within the company Detail oriented with a high degree of accuracy Ability to read, understand, and interpret technical information and manuals Good logic and reasoning skills with an ability to validate technical outcomes
