Non-exempt SUMMARY The EDM Operator 1 at Hi Tech Honeycomb is an entry-level role designed for learning and growth. This position offers the opportunity to master the operation of EDM machines and gain valuable skills in the production of honeycomb materials.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

This role involves learning under the guidance of the Production Supervisor/Mentor, with responsibilities outlined as follows. Additional tasks may be given to enhance learning and skill development as required. Duties must be performed under the supervision of the Mentor until competence is displayed. Understand and follow Hi Tech Honeycomb's Quality Policy, System Procedures and Operations Manuals. Understand and follow safety procedures such as Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). Learn the set up and how to operate EDM machines Learn how to load and unload honeycomb into and out of holding fixtures\ Install new wire coils on wire EDM machines Manage paperwork and honeycomb parts entering and exiting the EDM area Read and understand travelers Identify discrepancies Perform in-process inspections Complete minor daily maintenance on EDM machines Understand how to use holding fixtures before storage Clean the EDM area after each job and at the end of the shift Other duties as needed

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

Manufacturing experience is preferred

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide

PREFERRED SKILLS

Familiarity with CNC machines Familiarity with travelers and sketches Familiarity with calibration labels for tools
