Staff training Full Job Description Job Profile Summary The Production Operator I - Wash Line Operations is responsible for supporting daily production floor activities with a focus on wash line operations, material processing, and quality control. The operator ensures production goals are met while maintaining the highest standards of safety, quality, food safety, and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP). Essential Functions Production & Wash Line Operations Support daily operations of assigned production and wash line areas to meet safety, quality, and throughput goals. Perform startup, shutdown, material changeovers, and normal operating procedures for wash line equipment with minimal supervision. Monitor production processes and adjust operating conditions using HMI systems and visual observation. Maintain appropriate levels of raw materials and ensure continuous production flow with minimal downtime. Perform minor troubleshooting and relief duties as required. Quality, Food Safety & Documentation Conduct continuous visual and physical inspections to prevent non‑conforming product. Accurately complete required production and quality documentation on an hourly or shift basis. Identify and report quality defects, contamination risks, and process deviations to shift leadership. Adhere to rPlanet food safety standards, GMP requirements, and HACCP‑related prerequisite programs. Material Handling & Inventory Track material inventory, production data, and batch weights using HMI interfaces and/or manual logs. Track inventory levels of finished product and byproducts; empty silos and hoppers and stage materials as required. Exchange material bins and support internal material movement as needed. Operate forklifts and material handling equipment safely when required. Equipment Care & Housekeeping Perform routine equipment care including cleaning filtration screens, monitoring chemical dosing units, and maintaining optical sorting devices. Identify equipment or safety issues and coordinate with shift leadership for resolution. Maintain general housekeeping in production, wash line, and surrounding areas. Safety & Training Make safety the number one priority and comply with all Niagara safety policies, OSHA regulations, PPE requirements, and lockout/tagout procedures. Participate in required safety and operational training. Support the training and onboarding of new team members as assigned. Qualifications Minimum Qualifications High School Diploma or GED. Ability to read, write, and perform basic math. Ability to work in a fast‑paced manufacturing environment. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform physical job duties throughout the shift. Preferred Qualifications Experience in manufacturing, production, recycling, or wash line operations. Forklift operation experience. Familiarity with HMI systems, food safety, GMP, SQF, or HACCP principles. Plastics or material processing experience. Physical Demands & Work Environment Frequent standing, walking, bending, reaching, and repetitive motion. Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Exposure to moving mechanical equipment, moderate to high noise levels, and varying environmental conditions.
Pay:
$21.00 per hour
