Who We're Looking For Advanced Transmission Center in Lakewood is looking for an experienced Transmission R&R / Heavy-Line Technician who takes pride in serious mechanical work and knows how to get a vehicle apart—and back together—the right way. This is not an entry-level position, and it is not a general maintenance job. Professional transmission, drivetrain, or comparable heavy-line experience is required. We need a technician who is comfortable with heavy-line removal and installation, has solid diagnostic skills, works methodically, respects the details, and understands that efficiency means doing the job correctly without creating problems for the next person in the process. Previous transmission-shop experience is preferred, but substantial professional drivetrain or heavy-line experience is required. The right candidate may come from a transmission specialty shop or from a strong general automotive background, but you must have real hands-on experience with transmissions, engines, transfer cases, differentials, clutches, or comparable heavy-line work. At Advanced Transmission Center, our technicians do more than remove and install transmissions. Each vehicle begins with our TrueTest diagnostic process , which may include a road test, electronic scan, lift inspection, fluid inspection, and evaluation of the customer's concern. Our technicians must be able to identify drivetrain and related vehicle problems accurately and communicate their findings clearly. Our R&R technicians diagnose vehicle concerns, perform heavy-line removal and installation, and work with our transmission builders and facility manager to move each job through the shop efficiently and correctly. You will be joining an established shop with experienced people, steady workflow, clear expectations, and a team that depends on each person doing his or her part. What You'll Be Doing Perform our TrueTest diagnostic process, including road testing, electronic scanning, lift inspections, fluid inspections, and evaluation of drivetrain-related concerns Accurately identify and communicate vehicle and drivetrain problems Remove and install automatic and manual transmissions Perform clutch, transfer case, differential, and related drivetrain work Perform heavy-line removal and installation involving transmissions, engines, driveline assemblies, and related components Remove and reinstall axles, mounts, exhaust components, driveline components, and related systems as required Inspect vehicles during disassembly and communicate additional concerns Follow established repair procedures and maintain an organized work area Complete work accurately and efficiently, with a strong focus on preventing leaks, damaged components, missing hardware, and comebacks Work closely with our transmission builder, facility manager, and other technicians to keep jobs moving through the shop Why Advanced Transmission Center?
