Our Danbury facility is the premier AS9100-certified electroforming supplier, manufacturing highly engineered components used in mission-critical environments worldwide. AMG Danbury specializes in producing rotorcraft composite blade leading-edge abrasion strips, turbine engine outer guide vane erosion sheaths, and missile and rocket wing slot heat shield electroforms. With more than 40,000 square feet of specialized manufacturing space and advanced processing capabilities, our facility is recognized as one of the largest and most technologically advanced electroforming operations in the industry. Position Summary AMG Danbury is seeking a hands-on Electroforming / Machining Technician to join our manufacturing team. This position supports both electroforming and machining operations and is responsible for setting up, operating, monitoring, and maintaining manufacturing equipment and processes while supporting daily production requirements. The ideal candidate is mechanically inclined, detail-oriented, and comfortable working in a highly regulated aerospace manufacturing environment. This role plays a critical part in ensuring product quality, process compliance, equipment performance, and on-time delivery of precision components. Key Responsibilities Electroforming Operations Set up, operate, and maintain electroforming equipment in accordance with engineering drawings, work instructions, and process specifications. Measure, mark, mask, and prepare components for electroforming and plating operations. Monitor production processes and maintain electroforming bath chemistry and related process controls. Support electroforming production activities while ensuring adherence to quality and customer requirements. Identify product or process non-conformances and communicate findings to appropriate personnel. Machining Operations Set up and operate machining equipment to support production requirements. Load and unload parts, fixtures, and tooling as required. Perform routine machining operations in accordance with engineering drawings, work instructions, and production travelers. Utilize measuring equipment to verify dimensions and ensure compliance with specifications. Support machining setup activities, tool changes, and process troubleshooting. Assist with machine maintenance and basic preventative maintenance activities. Quality & Production Support Perform visual and dimensional inspections using measuring equipment and inspection tools. Maintain accurate production records, process documentation, and inspection results. Support Engineering and Manufacturing teams with process analysis, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement initiatives. Follow AS9100 quality requirements, work instructions, and customer specifications. Maintain effective communication with supervisors, Engineering, Quality, and Production personnel regarding work status, issues, and opportunities for improvement. Continuous Improvement & Safety Support continuous improvement initiatives focused on quality, productivity, waste reduction, on-time delivery, and 6S workplace organization. Follow all Environmental Health & Safety (EHS), Quality, and company policies and procedures. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment. Promote a culture of teamwork, accountability, respect, and continuous learning. Complete assigned work accurately and within established production schedules. Qualifications Required Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent. 1-4 years of manufacturing, machining, electroforming, production, or related technical experience. Strong attention to detail and ability to follow documented procedures and work instructions. Ability to identify and communicate quality concerns and process issues. Strong work ethic, reliability, and willingness to learn specialized manufacturing processes. Mechanical aptitude and ability to work with manufacturing equipment and hand tools. Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented manufacturing environment. Preferred Qualifications Experience operating machining equipment, CNC equipment, or related manufacturing machinery. Experience in aerospace, defense, metal finishing, plating, electroforming, machining, or precision manufacturing environments. Familiarity with precision measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, and indicators. Experience reading engineering drawings and manufacturing documentation. Familiarity with
AS9100, ISO
9001, or other regulated quality systems. Experience with Lean Manufacturing, 6S, or continuous improvement initiatives.
