Overview Our client, a growing specialty manufacturing company, is seeking an experienced Maintenance Technician to join its team in Savannah, GA. This is a hands-on opportunity for a mechanically skilled maintenance professional who enjoys troubleshooting equipment, solving problems, and keeping a manufacturing operation running safely and efficiently. The Maintenance Technician will maintain, troubleshoot, repair, and improve production equipment, utility systems, and facility infrastructure within a manufacturing environment. You'll work with a variety of mechanical and electrical systems while playing an important role in equipment reliability, preventative maintenance, and reducing production downtime. What You'll Do Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair industrial production equipment, including mills, mixers, dispersion tanks, pumps, agitators, gearboxes, motors, drives, valves, piping, and material-transfer systems. Troubleshoot electrical components including motors, starters, relays, sensors, controls, and VFDs. Identify the root cause of equipment failures and implement corrective actions to prevent recurring issues. Perform scheduled preventative and predictive maintenance on production equipment and facility systems. Inspect bearings, seals, belts, couplings, and other rotating equipment for wear or potential failure. Respond quickly to equipment breakdowns and safely restore machinery to operating condition. Maintain accurate maintenance records and documentation. Support facility systems including HVAC, compressed air, electrical, lighting, water, and wastewater systems. Assist with installation and commissioning of new equipment and capital projects. Follow all plant safety procedures, including LOTO and OSHA requirements. Identify opportunities to improve equipment reliability, reduce downtime, and improve maintenance procedures and SOPs. What We're Looking For 3+ years of maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment required. Strong mechanical troubleshooting and repair skills. Hands-on experience troubleshooting pumps, rotating equipment, mixers, motors, and industrial machinery. Experience troubleshooting industrial electrical systems, including 480V, motors, and controls. Ability to read electrical and mechanical drawings. Experience with VFDs, motors, sensors, and controls preferred. Basic PLC troubleshooting experience preferred. Welding and fabrication experience is a plus. Experience within chemical, coatings, pigment dispersion, pharmaceutical, or a similar manufacturing environment is strongly preferred. High school diploma or GED required; technical training or certification in Industrial Maintenance, Electrical, Mechanical, or a related field is preferred. Physical & Work Environment Requirements This is a hands-on industrial maintenance position. Candidates must be comfortable working in a manufacturing environment and able to lift up to 50 pounds, stand and walk for extended periods, climb ladders, bend, and work on elevated platforms or in confined spaces when required.
