Job Description

We are seeking an experienced SMT Operator to join our electronics manufacturing team. The ideal candidate will have experience in a PCB assembly environment, strong attention to detail, and the ability to operate, troubleshoot, and maintain SMT equipment. Experience with Yamaha machines and IPC soldering certifications are preferred but not required. Responsibilities Operate Surface Mount Technology (SMT) equipment, including Pick & Place machines, Reflow Ovens, Screen Printers, and Solder Paste Inspection (SPI) equipment. Set up and change over feeders and machines according to work instructions. Troubleshoot equipment issues and perform programming adjustments as needed. Perform daily, weekly, and monthly preventive maintenance on SMT equipment. Identify electronic components, including values and polarity. Inspect circuit boards and assemblies for defects, missing components, and quality issues. Evaluate product quality throughout the manufacturing process and take corrective action when necessary. Support engineering during new product introductions and communicate process concerns. Perform soldering of through-hole (PTH) components on first articles when required. Record production data, including production levels, downtime, and defects. Coordinate with team members to ensure efficient workflow and production schedules. Take initiative to prepare equipment and work areas for production startup. Follow all manufacturing procedures, work instructions, and safety guidelines. Qualifications Minimum of 1-2 years of SMT Operator experience in an electronics manufacturing environment. Associate degree or equivalent work experience preferred. Ability to identify electronic components and read manufacturing documentation. Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills. IPC solder certification is a plus or willingness to obtain certification. Experience supporting continuous improvement efforts within SMT manufacturing. Ability to read, write, and understand work instructions in English. Experience documenting production activity and completing required forms accurately. Excellent attention to detail and ability to work effectively in a team environment. Physical Requirements Ability to lift up to 50 pounds. Ability to stand for extended periods.
