Job Description

PRIMARY DUTIES
: Monitors and adjusts the calender and all accompanying equipment so rubber sheet remains wrinkle-free and at the proper thickness Keeps a record of running speeds, gauge of rubber, and any adjustments made by request of the supervisor or inspector on the "Calender Daily Log" sheet Consults the "Product Specification Sheet" for proper sheeter speeds, backing requirements, and product weights Adjusts water valves (Line 2) or sets digital controls (Line 1) on the calender to ensure proper rubber adhesion to bowls Prepares backing rolls for mounting on machine and performs backing splices when necessary Can safely operate the hoist used to position backing rolls Adjusts rubber sheet width (trim) as directed by the supervisor or inspector Has a working knowledge of the safety devices on the mills and calender Assists the strip feed operator when needed Keeps work area clean and free of safety hazards Commitment to ISO9001 and Continuous Improvement Initiate action to prevent the occurrence of any nonconformities related to product, process and the system Identify and/or record any problems relating to the product, process and the quality system Equal Employment Opportunity/Veterans/Disability Employer fhBGKAZa5V
