Proportion-Air is an Indiana-based manufacturer of precision electronic pressure and flow control products. We build products used in industrial automation, medical, aerospace, transportation, and other demanding applications. We are looking for a dependable, detail-oriented SMT Pick-and-Place Operator to join our manufacturing team. What You'll Do Set up and operate automated SMT pick-and-place equipment. Load and replenish component reels and feeders. Verify components, part numbers, values, polarity, and placement locations. Follow BOMs, setup sheets, travelers, drawings, and work instructions. Load and verify machine programs before production. Monitor machine operation and product quality throughout the run. Perform first-piece and in-process inspections. Identify and report component, feeder, placement, or equipment issues. Make basic machine adjustments and troubleshoot routine production issues. Maintain accurate production and inspection records. Follow ESD procedures and proper handling of electronic components and PCBs. Perform machine changeovers and prepare equipment for the next job. Keep the work area clean, organized, and production-ready. Work closely with Production, Quality, and Engineering to maintain quality and efficiency. What We're Looking For Previous SMT, pick-and-place, PCB assembly, or electronics manufacturing experience is preferred. Experience operating automated manufacturing equipment is a plus. Ability to read and follow detailed work instructions and production documentation. Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality. Comfortable working with small electronic components and detailed assemblies. Basic computer skills. Good communication and organizational skills. Dependable attendance and a positive, team-oriented attitude. Willingness to learn and develop new technical skills. High school diploma/GED preferred. Candidates with less experience may be considered based on mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and willingness to learn. Why Join Proportion-Air?
