R D Production Technician - Marlborough, MA IPG Photonics United States, Massachusetts, Marlborough Aug 18, 2026 Position Summary Working under the direction of Scientific Production Engineers, scientists, and other engineers; R D and Production Technician performs advanced hands-on optical and electro-optical assembly, testing, troubleshooting, and basic R D activities. Primary Responsibilities Assemble, align, calibrate, and test high-performance laser and optical amplifier products units, including prototype builds and R D support.
Perform precision fiber-optic assembly, fusion splicing, and optical alignment.
Carry out optical and electrical testing, standard and custom measurements.
Troubleshoot equipment and product issues and assist engineers with failure analysis and root-cause investigations.
Record and analyze test data and maintain accurate production and laboratory documentation. Technical Expertise Troubleshoot and support analog and digital control electronics.
