9/80 Work Schedule Job Summary We are seeking an experienced Manufacturing Technician II to support aerospace panel assembly and manufacturing operations in Hanover, MD. This is a hands-on manufacturing position focused on honeycomb panel fabrication, adhesive bonding, composite processing, and assembly of flight hardware. The ideal candidate will have previous experience in aerospace manufacturing, honeycomb panel fabrication, composite assembly, or aerospace mechanical assembly , along with strong mechanical aptitude and the ability to read and follow engineering drawings, manufacturing instructions, and technical procedures. This position is onsite and cannot be performed remotely due to the hands-on nature of the work. Key Responsibilities Perform aerospace panel fabrication and consolidation operations, including honeycomb core preparation, adhesive application, bonding, vacuum bagging, and compaction. Prepare, mix, and apply epoxy, silicone, film adhesives, and other bonding materials as required. Perform honeycomb core cell adhesive filling and foaming/expanding adhesive applications. Assemble and fabricate aerospace components, panels, subassemblies, and flight hardware according to engineering drawings and manufacturing specifications. Read and interpret engineering drawings, work instructions, process specifications, and technical procedures. Use hand tools, power tools, and manufacturing equipment to process metals, composites, wood, and other materials. Perform rework, troubleshooting, dimensional checks, and quality testing as required. Support equipment setup, calibration, process adjustments, and manufacturing experiments in collaboration with engineers. Collect and evaluate manufacturing data and make appropriate process adjustments. Work closely with Manufacturing Engineering, Quality, Program teams, lead technicians, and supervisors to meet production requirements and schedules. Maintain accurate workmanship and quality standards throughout the manufacturing process. Follow all applicable safety procedures when handling tools, equipment, adhesives, chemicals, and other hazardous materials. Support continuous improvement initiatives to improve manufacturing processes, quality, and productivity. Required Qualifications High School Diploma or GED. Minimum 2 years of previous honeycomb panel fabrication or aerospace mechanical assembly experience . Experience working in an aerospace manufacturing environment. Strong mechanical aptitude and hands-on manufacturing skills. Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical documentation. Experience using hand tools and power tools. Good math and geometry skills. Ability to read, understand, and follow written manufacturing instructions and technical procedures. Experience working with metals, composites, wood, or similar manufacturing materials. Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. Ability to work on cure cart platens and elevated work areas for brief periods. Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship. Ability to work effectively with lead technicians, supervisors, engineers, and cross-functional teams. Willingness to work a 9/80 work schedule and flexible schedules as needed to meet production and delivery requirements. Strong commitment to workplace safety. U.S. Citizenship required. Preferred Qualifications Previous honeycomb panel fabrication experience in an aerospace manufacturing environment. Experience preparing and mixing epoxy and silicone adhesives. Experience with adhesive bonding and installation of mechanical or thermal components in honeycomb panels. Experience working with thin-gauge metal facesheet materials. Experience with vacuum bagging and composite panel consolidation processes. Experience handling hazardous materials in accordance with OSHA and industry standards. Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Word and Excel. Experience supporting manufacturing process improvement or troubleshooting activities.
Pay:
$28.00 - $33.00 per hour Expected hours: 40.0 per week
