Manufacturing Technician I (Assembly)
Location:
Romulus, MI Schedule:
2nd shift - 4pm to 2:30am
Pay Rate:
$16.55 on 2nd shift
Position Overview:
We are seeking dependable and motivated Manufacturing Technicians to join our production team. This position is responsible for assembling, inspecting, packaging, and operating production equipment to manufacture quality products in a safe and efficient manner. The ideal candidate is mechanically inclined, detail-oriented, and enjoys working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
Operate automatic and semi-automatic production equipment. Assemble and fit components to create complete products or subassemblies. Set up, load, and unload production machines. Operate packaging, labeling, banding, wrapping, and filling equipment. Inspect products to ensure they meet quality standards and specifications. Take measurements using gauges, measuring tools, and other inspection equipment. Perform basic machine adjustments and minor maintenance as needed. Participate in troubleshooting equipment and production issues. Assist with machine changeovers and continuous improvement initiatives. Disassemble scrap products and salvage reusable materials. Replenish raw materials and purchased parts in production areas. Move work-in-progress materials using carts, racks, bins, or other manual material handling equipment. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area. Cross-train and perform other production duties as assigned based on business needs.
Qualifications:
Previous manufacturing, assembly, machine operation, or production experience preferred. Mechanical aptitude and the ability to operate manufacturing equipment. Ability to use hand tools, power tools, and basic measuring instruments. Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing quality products. Ability to follow written work instructions and standard operating procedures. Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team environment. Willingness to learn multiple production processes and cross-train as needed.
Work Environment:
Fast-paced manufacturing environment. Exposure to production machinery, moving equipment, and moderate noise levels. Must follow all company safety procedures and wear required PPE. Cross-training and job rotation may be required based on production needs.
