Job Description

Position Summary The Polyurethane Garage Door Line Rollformer Operator is responsible for safely operating and monitoring rollforming equipment used in the production of insulated polyurethane garage door panels. This position ensures that products are manufactured according to quality standards, production schedules, and safety requirements. The operator performs machine setup, inspections, troubleshooting, material handling, and quality checks throughout the manufacturing process. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Operate polyurethane garage door rollforming equipment in a safe and efficient manner. Set up and adjust machinery to meet product specifications and production requirements. Monitor line performance, material flow, and polyurethane foam injection processes. Conduct routine quality inspections to verify dimensions, appearance, adhesion, and overall product quality. Measure and record production data, scrap rates, and quality checks. Troubleshoot basic mechanical, electrical, or process issues and notify maintenance when necessary. Load and stage steel coils, raw materials, and production supplies as required. Maintain production rates while minimizing downtime and material waste. Perform equipment cleaning and basic preventative maintenance activities. Follow all safety procedures, lockout/tagout requirements, and personal protective equipment (PPE) guidelines. Work closely with supervisors, quality personnel, and maintenance technicians to achieve production goals. Assist with changeovers, product transitions, and continuous improvement initiatives. Maintain a clean and organized work area in accordance with 5S and housekeeping standards. Required Qualifications High school diploma or GED preferred. Previous manufacturing, rollforming, or machine operation experience preferred. Ability to read and interpret production documents, work instructions, and measuring devices. Basic mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Strong attention to detail and commitment to product quality. Ability to follow written and verbal instructions. Physical Requirements Ability to stand and walk for extended periods during a shift. Frequently lift, push, pull, and carry up to 50 pounds plus. Ability to bend, twist, reach, and perform repetitive movements. Ability to work in a manufacturing environment with exposure to noise, moving machinery, and varying temperatures. Ability to wear required PPE, including safety glasses, hearing protection, gloves, and steel-toed footwear. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Knowledge of manufacturing processes and production equipment. Understanding of quality control procedures and inspection methods. Ability to use tape measures, calipers, and other measuring tools. Strong problem-solving and communication skills. Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations and record production information accurately.
Pay:
$20.00 - $24.00 per hour Expected hours: 40.0 per week
