Job Summary:
We are seeking a detail-focused Masking Technician to support production operations in a precision metal finishing environment. This hands-on position is responsible for applying masking, taping, plugging, and related techniques to prepare metal parts for anodizing and coating processes. The ideal candidate has a stable work history, strong attention to detail, and enjoys precise, hands-on work. Previous masking or plugging experience is highly encouraged, along with the ability to consistently follow detailed work instructions and quality requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
Apply masking materials including tape, caps, plugs, and custom coverings to metal components. Follow work instructions, diagrams, and job specifications to ensure accurate masking placement. Prepare components for anodizing, coating, and other metal finishing processes. Inspect parts to verify proper masking coverage, cleanliness, and quality. Identify and correct masking issues before parts move to the next stage of production. Perform repetitive hand and finger movements with accuracy and consistency. Use basic computer systems to review job information and record completed work. Properly label, organize, and stage parts throughout the masking process. Maintain a clean and organized workstation. Communicate clearly with team members and supervisors regarding job requirements or quality concerns. Follow all company safety procedures, quality standards, and production requirements. Assist with additional production responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications:
Stable work history required. Previous masking and/or plugging experience highly encouraged. Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English clearly. Basic computer skills required. Strong attention to detail and ability to perform precise, repetitive tasks. Good hand-eye coordination and fine-motor skills. Comfortable working with hands and fingers for extended periods. Ability to follow detailed written and verbal instructions. Dependable, quality-focused, and team-oriented. Ability to sit or stand for extended periods while working with components. Ability to perform repetitive hand and fine-motor movements throughout the workday. Ability to occasionally lift up to 20-30 pounds.
Working Conditions:
Production and metal finishing environment with moderate noise levels. Hands-on work involving small components and repetitive, detail-oriented tasks. Work requires consistent focus on accuracy and quality. Appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) must be worn as required. Must follow established safety, quality, and production procedures.
