As a Production Technician II , you will serve as a seasoned professional tasked with the independent assessment, repair, and validation of intricate construction machinery. Your primary focus involves tackling non-standard mechanical and electrical challenges, conducting deep-dive root cause investigations, and verifying that all equipment adheres to rigorous performance and quality benchmarks. Operating during the final stages of production and quality assurance, you will act as a key technical expert. Your responsibilities include pinpointing defects, formulating effective corrective measures, and confirming the success of repairs through comprehensive operational testing. Core Responsibilities Analyze intricate issues spanning mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, electronic, engine, and powertrain systems. Determine the underlying origins of equipment malfunctions to help improve long-term machine reliability. Execute sophisticated repair and troubleshooting tasks when standard protocols prove insufficient. Utilize a variety of hand-held, pneumatic, and specialized tools to dismantle and reconfigure complex machine parts. Review and apply information from technical guides, machine diagrams, and detailed work orders. Coordinate necessary parts and research advanced repair methodologies to ensure efficient workflows. Test machinery functionality to ensure repairs are effective and help maintain high operational standards. Manage the loading and unloading of components or machinery from transport vehicles as necessary. Ensure all work aligns with Quality Management System protocols and environmental safety standards to help foster a secure workplace. Contribute to ongoing process improvements while maintaining a professional and collaborative atmosphere. Engage in the company's Open Book Management practices. Complete additional tasks as dictated by daily operational requirements. Required Qualifications Possession of a high school diploma or its equivalent. At least five years of hands-on experience in the repair and troubleshooting of complex or heavy machinery. Proven expertise in diagnosing diverse systems including powertrain, engine, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electronic components. Proficiency in utilizing diagnostic equipment and analyzing technical data to help drive accurate repair outcomes. Strong analytical capabilities for identifying root causes and resolving complex mechanical problems. Competency in interpreting intricate technical schematics and manuals. Capacity to function autonomously within a high-speed production setting. Excellent organizational and task-prioritization abilities to help streamline production efficiency. Proficiency in performing the mathematical calculations required for precise diagnostic and repair work. Preferred Qualifications Background in the maintenance of construction-grade equipment. Prior work with Genie products or comparable aerial lift machinery. Familiarity with product lifecycles, manufacturing materials, and assembly processes. Current forklift certification or relevant operating experience. Work Environment This position is based in a heavy manufacturing facility where you will encounter noise, dust, varying temperatures, and common industrial substances like grease and oil. You must strictly adhere to all safety, environmental, and Haz/Com protocols, which includes the mandatory use of safety glasses and steel-toed boots. Physical Requirements Spend roughly 90% of your shift standing, walking, or climbing, with 10% spent in a seated position. Capability to lift and transport items weighing up to 50 pounds. Frequent physical activity including walking, standing, climbing, and manual handling of tools to help maintain steady production output. Ability to clearly hear safety alerts and communicate effectively regarding operational tasks. Schedule Standard shift runs Monday through Friday, from 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM. This is a full-time role averaging 40 hours per week. Operational needs may occasionally necessitate extended weekday hours, Saturday shifts, or additional overtime. All overtime hours are paid in compliance with relevant state and federal wage regulations.
