Job Description

POSITION SUMMARY
The Manufacturing Technician (Entry Level) supports the manufacturing of custom hydraulic power units by preparing equipment for painting, performs painting operations, and helping technicians throughout the shop. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys working with their hands, has a strong mechanical aptitude, and wants to learn new skills in a clean, climate-controlled manufacturing environment. Previous industrial painting experience is not required. We are willing to train the right individual who demonstrates a positive attitude, reliability, attention to detail, and a willingness to learn. This position reports directly to the Hydraulic Shop Floor Supervisor and works closely with fabrication, hydraulic assembly, and shipping personnel
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
Approximately 50% Painting / 50% Shop Support Painting Responsibilities  Learn to prepare and paint custom hydraulic power units and fabricated assemblies  Clean, power wash, sand, and prepare surfaces for painting  Tape and mask components before painting  Assist with applying industrial coatings using airless, HVLP, and conventional spray equipment (training provided)  Learn proper mixing and application of industrial enamels, epoxies, polyurethanes, and other coatings  Inspect painted components for quality and appearance  Maintain paint equipment and work area Shop Support Responsibilities  Sandblast parts for fabrication and painting  Clean hydraulic reservoirs prior to testing and painting  Cut, clean, deburr, and bevel pipe and materials  Assist welders and hydraulic technicians with assembly work  Check incoming materials against Bills of Material (BOM)  Laser mark identification tags  Photograph completed power units before shipment  Package products and prepare shipments  Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment  Perform other shop duties as assigned to support production schedules
QUALIFICATIONS
Required  High School Diploma or GED  Good mechanical aptitude  Positive attitude and willingness to learn  Dependable with good attendance  Ability to follow instructions and work as part of a team  Strong attention to detail  Ability to read a tape measure to within 1/16"  Ability to safely use hand and power tools (or willingness to learn) Preferred (Not Required) Experience in any of the following is helpful but not required:  Manufacturing  Automotive repair  Equipment maintenance  Construction  Fabrication  Painting  Mechanical assembly We are willing to train motivated candidates with little or no industrial painting experience. Training Provided The successful candidate will receive on-the-job training in:  Industrial painting techniques  Surface preparation  Proper masking procedures  Spray equipment operation  Industrial coating application  Shop safety practices  Forklift operation and certification  Material handling  Basic fabrication equipment  Pipe cutting and threading  Hydraulic assembly support
PHYSICAL AND CONDITIONS

Pay:
$26.00 - $28.00 per hour
