Job Description

Join a leading aerospace manufacturing team in Kinston, NC as a Composite Technician supporting the fabrication, assembly, bonding, and repair of composite and metal aircraft structures. This role involves working with advanced composite materials, lay-up tools, bonding processes, autoclaves, ovens, and precision measuring equipment in a fast-paced production environment. The ideal candidate will have previous experience with composite fabrication, lay-ups, bonding, assembly, and aerospace manufacturing processes while maintaining the highest standards of safety, quality, and workmanship.
Responsibilities:
Lay out, assemble, pre-fit, and bond a variety of metal, composite, and laminate fabrications, assemblies, parts, skins, and equipment. Follow engineering drawings, manufacturing specifications, and work instructions to determine bonding requirements, including temperature and pressure specifications. Cut materials and components to required dimensions. Operate autoclaves, hydraulic presses, and ovens to complete bonding cycles. Sand, burr, smooth, and finish bonded surfaces. Apply sealing resins to cut or exposed edges. Perform composite lay-up activities using optical and hard tooling. Complete rework and repair activities as required. Monitor and verify product quality in accordance with controlled procedures. Obtain and interpret information from blueprints, charts, sketches, work orders, technical documents, verbal instructions, and electronic systems. Utilize shop mathematics and precision measuring instruments to complete assignments. Verify all work meets process requirements and engineering specifications. Ensure equipment and tooling certifications remain current and compliant with procedures. Use solvents and cleaning solutions to prepare details, tools, and assemblies for bonding and paint operations. Perform routine minor machine maintenance. Move products and materials within the manufacturing area using designated equipment. Support production flow by assisting and training employees across classification levels. Maintain compliance with safety, quality, and manufacturing standards.
Requirements:
Minimum 2 years of aviation production experience or equivalent. Experience with composite lay-ups, assembly, pre-fitting, and bonding of composite or metal structures. Knowledge of safety procedures, quality standards, FOD control, and OSHA regulations. Ability to use a variety of hand tools and production equipment. Strong written and verbal communication skills in English. Ability to work any shift and overtime as needed. High School Diploma, GED, or WorkKeys Assessment completion. Ability to complete company-provided Health & Safety, Aircraft Familiarization, and Quality training. Must be willing to work any shift during training and after completion Must be a U.S. Person as defined under U.S. export control regulations. Preferred 5+ years of aviation production experience.
