Job Description

  • Job Title: Production Technician / Production Assistant
  • Job Description
  • This role oversees quality within machining value streams by performing detailed inspections, monitoring process consistency, and supporting continuous improvement on the production floor. You will perform quality checks, interpret reports, and use precision measuring tools to ensure parts meet specifications in a high-performing manufacturing environment on a third-shift schedule.
  • Responsibilities
  • + Oversee and maintain quality standards across machining value streams to ensure consistent and reliable production output.

+ Perform routine and detailed quality checks on machining parts using precision measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges.

+ Inspect and measure machined components to verify they meet blueprint and specification requirements.

+ Review and interpret quality reports and Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM) reports to identify trends, nonconformances, and opportunities for improvement.

+ Manage part and process consistency by monitoring production processes and escalating issues when necessary.

+ Support root cause analysis activities to identify the source of quality and process issues and contribute to corrective actions.

+ Apply built-in quality (BIQ) principles and Pre-Delivery Inspection (PDI) practices to prevent defects and ensure products meet quality standards before release.

+ Read and interpret blueprints and technical documentation to guide inspection activities and verify dimensional accuracy.

+ Operate or support machine operation as needed to ensure quality requirements are met throughout the production process.

+ Utilize Microsoft Office tools to document findings, track quality metrics, and communicate results to relevant stakeholders.

+ Follow and promote LEAN and 5S methodologies to maintain an organized, efficient, and safe work area.

+ Collaborate with production and quality teams to resolve issues, improve processes, and support continuous improvement initiatives.

+ Adhere to all standard operating procedures and quality guidelines while working independently on the third shift.

  • Essential Skills
  • + 3+ years of manufacturing experience working with production machines, including but not limited to CNC or similar equipment.

+ Hands-on experience with quality control and inspection in a manufacturing environment.

+ Proficiency using precision measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers, gauges, and related inspection equipment.

+ Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings for inspection and verification purposes.

+ Familiarity with Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM) reports and basic understanding of CMM-based inspection results.

+ Experience performing root cause analysis to identify and address quality and process issues.

+ Working knowledge of built-in quality (BIQ) and Pre-Delivery Inspection (PDI) concepts.

+ Comfort using Microsoft Office applications to record data, create reports, and communicate findings.

+ Experience applying LEAN principles and 5S practices in a production or manufacturing environment.

+ Ability to work independently and reliably on a third-shift schedule (11:00 p.m. to 7:30 a.m.).

  • This position is based in a climate-controlled, state-of-the-art manufacturing facility focused on machining and production quality.

You will work on the third shift from 11:00 p.m. to 7:30 a.m. in an environment that supports built-in quality (BIQ), Pre-Delivery Inspection (PDI), LEAN, and 5S practices. The role involves frequent use of precision measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers, gauges, and interaction with CMM reports and blueprints. The facility provides nice uniforms and regularly hosts food trucks, contributing to a clean, professional, and comfortable workplace. The setting emphasizes organization, efficiency, and continuous improvement while supporting a structured, contract-to-hire employment arrangement.

  • Pay and Benefits
  • The pay range for this position is $18.

00 - $20.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
