DESCRIPTION

The Assembly Technician is an entry-level role that framing experience is preferred, but not required. Working in teams of 2-4, Assembly Technicians interpret established construction plans and assemble manufactured steel studs into complete wall/ceiling panels. It is essential that all safety protocols are followed while achieving accuracy, quality, and time-sensitive objectives.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Interpret established construction plans Organize materials at work station Ensure materials meet established quality standards Accurately use basic measuring devices Prepare items for shipment including crating and documentation Practice good housekeeping daily Follow safety guidelines and always wear appropriate PPE including, but not limited to, steel/composite toe boots, safety glasses, gloves, and ear plugs Operate required equipment per safety guidelines, upon proper certification

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/SKILLS

Framing experience in steel or wood is preferred Must be a minimum of 16 years of age Highly motivated with a positive attitude Must be able to routinely lift and maneuver a minimum of 50 pounds Must be able to occasionally lift and maneuver 100+ pounds using team lifts, proper lifting techniques, and equipment upon proper certification Regularly required to stand, walk, climb, balance, sit, bend, squat, kneel, twist, crouch, crawl, and reach for long periods of time in a manufacturing shop setting Must have reliable transportation and be punctual for shift work Ability to multitask and communicate clearly any questions or issues concerning the assembly process Must be dependable, organized, professional and able to follow instructions Able to work in a team environment or individually with minimal supervision Able to read English and understand the panel layout prints for assembly General carpentry skills are preferred Basic knowledge of hand tools/power tools specifically oriented to steel fabrication (hand grinder, tin snips, nibblers, hand drills, etc.) is preferred
