Farm Manager / Operations Manager About the Position We are seeking a motivated, dependable Indoor Farm Production Technician to join our team at a specialty indoor farm producing gourmet mushrooms and high-quality salad greens. This hands-on position will be responsible for day-to-day production activities across both our mushroom and hydroponic growing operations. The ideal candidate enjoys working with plants, fungi, equipment, and production systems and is comfortable working in a clean, detail-oriented environment where consistency and sanitation are critical. You will work with modern indoor farming systems, including aeroponics, hydroponics, and NFT (nutrient film technique) , DWC (Deep Water Culture) while also participating in the complete production cycle for gourmet mushrooms. Key ResponsibilitiesGourmet Mushroom Production Prepare mushroom substrate using commercial mixing equipment. Fill and properly seal substrate into grow bags. Operate and monitor the farm's steam sterilization cabin. Prepare sterilized substrate for inoculation. Inoculate substrate bags using grain spawn while following strict sanitation and contamination-control procedures. Maintain clean and organized mushroom production areas. Monitor mushroom blocks throughout the growing cycle. Identify and report contamination or production issues. Harvest gourmet mushrooms at the appropriate stage of maturity. Handle, sort, and prepare harvested mushrooms according to farm standards. Clean and sanitize equipment and work areas between production cycles. Salad Green Production Plant and maintain salad greens using rockwool growing cubes. Transplant seedlings into hydroponic growing systems. Operate and monitor advanced controlled-environment growing systems, including hydroponics, aeroponics, and NFT, and DWC . Maintain growing equipment and identify basic equipment issues. Clean and sanitize growing equipment between harvest cycles. Monitor nutrient feed tanks and ensure they remain properly balanced and topped off. Check growing systems for proper water and nutrient flow. Monitor plants for signs of nutrient deficiencies, pests, disease, or other growing issues. Harvest salad greens according to established quality and production standards. Maintain a clean, organized, and food-safe growing environment. What We're Looking For Reliable, punctual, and hardworking. Strong attention to detail and ability to follow established procedures. Comfortable performing repetitive hands-on production tasks. Ability to work independently as well as part of a team. Interest in agriculture, horticulture, mycology, hydroponics, or controlled-environment agriculture. Ability to maintain a high standard of cleanliness and sanitation. Comfortable working around water, growing equipment, mushrooms, plants, and commercial mixers.
Pay:
$18.00 - $22.00 per hour
