12:00 AM - 10:30 AM (Sunday to Thursday) Job Description The Production / Changeover Technician works in a food processing environment and is responsible for efficiently setting up production lines each day in preparation for the next day's operations. This role focuses on accurate machine changeovers, proper material staging, and ensuring that all equipment is configured according to production schedules and quality standards. Responsibilities Perform daily production line changeovers to ensure all machines are correctly set up for the following day's scheduled products. Provide a consistent daily overview of line changeover progress and communicate periodic updates to changeover technicians. Identify problems or machine failures during production and work to resolve issues promptly or escalate them to the appropriate channels. Confirm at the start of each shift that the assigned line has all required materials staged and ready for use. Conduct final verification of proper line setup prior to production start, ensuring that machine parts are correctly changed over and that coding matches the scheduled paperwork. Ensure all parts replaced on production lines are returned and stored in the correct position within the changeover cage area. Assist or provide coverage on other lines with similar machinery as needed to support production demands. Perform machine operation, visual inspections, and general labor tasks as required to maintain smooth line performance. Carry out basic troubleshooting on equipment to minimize downtime and maintain production efficiency. Follow all CGMP and HACCP guidelines and adhere to established sanitation and safety procedures. Comply with facility policies regarding personal protective equipment, dress code, and jewelry restrictions while working on the production floor. Skills Mechanical aptitude with the ability to understand and perform equipment changeovers. Experience operating production line machinery in a manufacturing or food processing environment. Ability to use hand tools safely and effectively for equipment adjustments and part changes. Skill in machine operation, visual inspection, and general labor tasks on a production floor. Basic troubleshooting skills to identify and address machine issues during production. Attention to detail to verify correct machine parts, coding, and paperwork alignment before production starts. Capability to follow CGMP and HACCP guidelines and comply with all food manufacturing standards. Ability to work overnight shifts and maintain productivity in a fast-paced environment. Additional Skills & Qualifications Previous changeover technician experience in a production or food manufacturing environment is ideal. Experience with sanitation processes, including breaking down equipment for cleaning, is highly beneficial. Comfort working in a hot food manufacturing facility that is not climate controlled. Strong communication skills to provide clear updates on line changeover progress. Ability to assist on multiple lines with similar machinery as operational needs require. Why Work Here? Work Environment This role is based in a hot food manufacturing facility that operates under strict CGMP and HACCP guidelines. The schedule runs from Sunday night through Thursday morning, typically from 12:00 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. Employees must adhere to all CGMP policies and facility rules, including wearing work boots and appropriate hair coverings, and following a no-jewelry policy while on the production floor. The environment is fast-paced, hands-on, and safety-focused, with regular interaction with production machinery and equipment. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Swedesboro, NJ. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $22.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
