Job Description

Education/Training:
Associate's Degree or equivalent in Mechanical, Electrical or Manufacturing Technology or related STEM field preferred. In lieu of a degree, at least 15 years of relevant work experience is required
Special Skills:
Very strong technical aptitude. Proficiency with mechanical and electrical assembly, performing laboratory tests and the use of precision measurement tools (i.e. micrometers, calipers, multi-meters, oscilloscopes). Strong computer skills including MS Office. Familiarity with data collection and excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Experience:
8-10 years of technical work experience in an engineering, laboratory or manufacturing environment.
Physical Demands:
Strength, vision and dexterity suited to basic soldering and the use of hand tools. Ability to lift up to 20lbs. Ability to perform essential functions with or without reasonable accommodation.
Other:
PCB is involved in the development of technology controlled by the International Traffic in Arms Regulations. For the purpose of our compliance with U.S. Export Control laws, U.S. citizenship or permanent resident/green card is required.
Basic Function:
Follows all PCB procedures and forms in compliance to
ISO 9001
Self-motivated to perform a variety of assembly tasks on special products and engineering prototypes that require the ability to follow written/verbal instructions and a thorough knowledge of techniques, materials, tools and equipment. Serves as backup for first line supervisor. Assists in training and serves as a mentor for less experienced technicians.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Promotes teamwork, cooperation and commitment to Total Customer Satisfaction among team members. Responsible for performing complex electrical, mechanical and environmental assemblies on any PCB product. Responsible for understanding and using proper ESD procedures as outlined in the ESD manual. Performs all necessary assembly operations efficiently and accurately by following established written procedures; follows steps on the product job router, writes legibly, signs and dates traveler when steps are completed. Able to converse with Engineering on Calibration Data, this may involve the application of science/mathematics (statistics and algebra). Responsible for making sure that all products meet established assembly specifications and for notifying Leadership when they do not; may do involved troubleshooting to determine if the root cause is in the device under test or in the measurement system. Assists in the training and development of less experienced Technicians. May assist Department supervisor in prioritizing work among other Technicians and providing support and advice to solve technical problems. Participates in the development of assembly and core competency procedures for newly developed sensor models involving new or existing methods and equipment. Ensures that all desktop equipment is within calibration, that they are not expired before using and notifies Leadership if expired or close to expiration, communicates with Leadership concerning any problems with product testing equipment. Suggests modifications to or alternate assembly methods for new or complex products or projects. Readily offers technical advice. Assists in writing technical documentation such as manuals and assembly procedures. Follows safety rules and keeps area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition. Performs other related duties as assigned.
Training Program:
PRODTECH
