Full Job Description About Us:

Afficionado is an Independent, Specialty Coffee Roaster with a flagship coffee shop in Manhattan. Since our founding in 2008 we have always worked directly with every producer and farmer we source from to ensure an ethical and sustainable supply chain from seed-to-cup. We pride ourselves in not only forging and maintaining these long lasting relationships but also are committed to improving the infrastructure and quality of life of our coffee producing communities year around. We believe that advancement should never forgo quality. As a Coffee Service Technician, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing coffee equipment for our high end clientele. Your expertise will ensure that our customers experience uninterrupted, top-notch coffee service.

Key Responsibilities:

• Install and set up commercial coffee machines and related equipment.
• Perform routine maintenance and troubleshoot issues with coffee machines, grinders, and other coffee-related equipment.
• Respond to service calls promptly and efficiently, ensuring minimal downtime for clients.
• Educate clients on the proper use and maintenance of their coffee equipment.
• Maintain accurate records of service activities, including work performed and parts used.
• Collaborate with the team to resolve complex technical issues and improve service processes.
• Keep up-to-date with industry trends and advancements in coffee technology.

Qualifications:

• Proven experience as a coffee service technician or similar role.
• Strong technical skills with a deep understanding of coffee machines and equipment.
• Ability to troubleshoot and repair a variety of coffee equipment.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Strong communication skills and a customer-oriented attitude.
• Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
• Ability to lift and move heavy equipment.
• Technicians must be punctual, courteous, and able to represent your company positively.
• Good communication skills are important for explaining technical issues to clients in a way they can understand.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Certification in coffee equipment repair or related field.
• Previous experience working in a fast-paced, customer-facing environment.
• Familiarity with a variety of coffee machine brands and models.
