Job Purpose:
Provide manufacturing solutions to CNC operators, and other manufacturing personnel. Create, diagnose and provide technical solutions and supporting documentation, as well as supporting continuous improvement and time-savings initiatives.
Job Duties & Responsibilities:
Create CNC and Laser Machine programs for new and existing product including new development and product launch, must also have the capability to setup, implement and troubleshoot the first runs Responsible for successful handoff of entire process to the production team Design KBC internal fixtures and tooling utilizing CAD/CAM and maintain accurate data within the KBC PDM system Create and maintain tool data management information. Ability to choose appropriate cutting tools including the ability to design or help a supplier design custom tool as needed. Prepare and maintain instructions specific to each manufactured item Initiate or participate in continuous improvement activities Assists in the development of in-process and new part drawings and tool designs using GD&T rules and principles Provide routine support activities such as tooling coordination, CNC machine programming, routing creation and maintenance; Supports Quality initiatives including ISO required activities Support production as required with technical and troubleshooting expertise
Qualifications:
Outstanding team player Comfortable working in a CNC manufacturing / shop floor environment for exended periods of time on a daily basis. High School diploma or GED equivalent, with a minimum of 3 years of experience in metal cutting / processing business Experience in CNC machine operation and programming including vertical/horizontal lathe, mill, multitask machining; GibbsCam and Solid Edge experience is a plus. Proven ability to effectively manage multiple projects at a time Strong technical expertise particularly with ductile iron and similar materials including metal fabrication.
Working Conditions:
Individual will primarily work in a shop floor environment and occasionally in an office environment
Physical Requirements:
Individual will be required to participate in activities that require occasional bending, stooping and standing. Likewise, the individual will be required to sit for long periods while conducting office responsibilities. Some travel may be required to visit suppliers and customers.
