Take your career to the next level and join us now! SUMMARY The Utility Lead is responsible for providing support in multiple departments including Tooling, Blending, Grinding and QA. The Utility Lead is also able to perform the duties of a Lead Operator in Production overseeing output, specifications, and overall quality. The Utility Lead can fill in as the role of Supervisor.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
May include, but are not limited to, the following:
  • Assist Tool and Die performing changeovers and line start ups
  • Assist Maintenance in minor equipment repairs
  • Perform duties of a day or night shift Lead Operator as needed
  • Perform all duties and responsibilities required of A, B, and C Operators
  • Gauge when the line is hot and ready to start
  • Make heat adjustments on extruder for quality pipe
  • Maintain INK JET printers and select correct print
  • Give breaks to line operators in his area of responsibility when working in production
  • Responsible for Production Pre-Start Checklist and start up a line from start to finish in a timely manner with end results of quality product
  • Keep all tooling put up in correct place
  • Sets a premier example to others as to safe work habits, attitude, and company goals
  • Select proper silo and material for product
  • Assist with conducting Production on boarding training with new hires
  • Engage in daily production process improvements
  • Cross trained and able to perform Blending/Grinding position as needed
  • Cross trained and able to perform QA Technician position as needed
  • Other duties as assigned
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS
  • High school diploma/GED preferred
  • Must be qualified at A Operator level
  • Strong work ethic, attention to detail and positive attitude
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
PHYSICAL DEMANDS

The employee is occasionally required to stoop, kneel, or crouch. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
