Job Description A. Basic Function A. Basic Function The Sleeve Operator / Employee Trainer is a dual-role position responsible for the safe and efficient operation of the egg sleeving equipment, as well as supporting the onboarding and skills development of new team members. This role requires strong attention to detail, mechanical aptitude, and the ability to communicate procedures clearly and effectively to others. B. Principal Accountabilities & Key Responsibilities Sleeve Operation Start up the sleever and ensure the glue melter is filled and brought to proper operating temperature prior to production. Set up the dater with the correct lot code and date required for each production run. Gather all necessary supplies for the day's run, including boxes, eggs, and sleeves. Perform test runs on a sample of cartons to verify that the correct date is printing in the proper location. Monitor and check date printing periodically throughout the production run to ensure continued accuracy. Learn to diagnose equipment errors and apply corrective actions to minimize downtime. Complete OVO input production for the bossie being fed into the sleever. Return all supplies and materials to their designated storage locations at the conclusion of each run. Thoroughly clean the sleever at the end of each production day according to sanitation standards. Maintain a clean, organized, and hazard-free work area at all times. Uphold a safe work environment by following all applicable safety policies and procedures. 2. Employee Training (Secondary Functions) Learn and demonstrate proficiency in all entry-level production positions, including case packing, stacking, and loading. Assist supervisors and leads with the onboarding and hands-on training of new employees. Utilize established checklists and Job Breakdown Sheets (JBS) to ensure new employees receive complete, consistent training on every aspect of their role. Provide clear, patient, and thorough instruction to trainees, reinforcing safe and correct work methods. Document training progress and communicate any concerns or gaps to the supervisor. Key Attributes Required Ability to follow written and verbal instructions accurately. Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced production environment. Willingness to learn multiple positions and cross-train as needed. Effective communication skills and a positive, team-oriented attitude. Preferred Prior experience in food production, packaging, or manufacturing environment. Experience operating production machinery or line equipment. Previous experience in training, mentoring, or lead role. Physical Requirements Ability to stand and walk for extended periods throughout an 8-10-hour shift. Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs. Anything over 50 lbs. requires assistance in lifting. Manual dexterity required for operating equipment and handling products. Ability to work in a temperature-controlled production facility. E.
