Our multidisciplinary team works at the intersection of materials science, process development, and manufacturing. We are seeking a Chemical Manufacturing Technician who is excited to work hands-on with advanced materials and help transition innovative processes from the laboratory to commercial-scale production. Position Summary The Chemical Manufacturing Technician will support the synthesis, processing, and production of MXene materials in a controlled manufacturing environment. This hands-on role involves operating process equipment, handling hazardous chemicals, documenting production activities, and maintaining a safe and organized workplace. The ideal candidate is safety-conscious, detail-oriented, dependable, and comfortable following established procedures while contributing to continuous process improvements. Key Responsibilities Perform batch synthesis and processing of MXene materials, including acid etching, washing, separation, and related production steps. Safely prepare, handle, transfer, and dispose of industrial chemicals, including acids such as hydrofluoric acid and hydrochloric acid. Operate manufacturing and laboratory equipment, including reactors, centrifuges, pumps, and material-handling systems. Inspect equipment, chemical containers, storage areas, and workspaces to identify safety or maintenance concerns. Assist with equipment setup, routine maintenance, calibration, and troubleshooting. Support material packaging, labeling, inventory management, and general production-area organization. Collaborate with scientists, engineers, and other manufacturing personnel to improve process safety, consistency, quality, and efficiency. Assist with quality-control activities and ensure that materials meet established production specifications. Required Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent. Relevant hands-on experience or technical training in chemical processing, laboratory operations, industrial manufacturing, materials production, or a related environment. Ability to follow written procedures and established safety protocols. Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining a safe workplace. Basic math skills for measurements, calculations, and accurate data recording. Ability to maintain organized and complete production documentation. Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively with a team. Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills. Preferred Qualifications Technical certificate, vocational training, associate degree, or college coursework in chemistry, chemical technology, engineering technology, manufacturing, materials science, or a related field. Experience handling hydrofluoric acid, hydrochloric acid, or other hazardous industrial chemicals. Experience operating centrifuges, reactors, pumps, or related chemical-processing equipment. Familiarity with batch manufacturing, quality-control testing, or materials processing. Compensation and Benefits The annual salary for this position is up to $75,000 , depending on the candidate's experience and qualifications.
