Job Title:
Production Technician Job Description Join our dynamic team as a Production Technician, where you will play a crucial role in our packaging and conditioning operations. You will be a vital part of the seasonal production process, ensuring that our products meet the highest standards of quality and safety. This position offers an opportunity for full-time employment at the end of a three-month contract. Responsibilities Receive and process trucks hauling crops for weighing and unloading. Complete harvest activities such as husk and sort operations. Operate the dryer to dry crops within safety, quality, and financial requirements. Shell and store crops from bins in the dryer facility. Supply the Conditioning department with a constant supply of seeds. Apply appropriate treatment to seeds. Label, tag, bag, and palletize seeds. Enter inventory information into the computer. Stage seeds for shipment in the warehouse. Retag in-house seeds and re-bag returned seeds. Inspect and wash pro boxes to ensure cleanliness. Essential Skills Knowledge of production agriculture and plant operations. Ability to safely perform duties while maintaining seed quality. Capacity to work independently or with a team. Adaptability to changing conditions and anticipation of needs. Competence in making independent decisions. Additional Skills & Qualifications Steel-toed shoes required. Must not be colorblind. Ability to stand for long periods. Capability to climb stairs. Proficiency in reading English. No education required. Forklift experience is a plus. Why Work Here? Work Environment Work in a production facility where you will be exposed to corn and insecticide dust as part of the seed production process. Be prepared to stand on your feet for 12-hour shifts, climb stairs, and lift up to 60 lbs. Our facility operates in shifts, and you must be flexible and available for all shifts, including rotational shifts and overtime as needed. Smoking and tobacco products are strictly prohibited on-site. Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Rushville, IN. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $19.50 - $19.50/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
